‘Charlie’s Day’ is a short commercial that was filmed and edited by me, as an entry to a prestige D&AD competition, held annually in the UK.
Upon selecting a brief for a National Autistic Society UK, the task
was to create awareness of exclusions of young teens with Autism at schools.
My team and I started by
interviewing parents of teens with autism and what we found out was that often their children were the targets of bullying and experienced exclusion from everyday kids events, often no one turning to their birthday parties and other milestones.
I filmed and edited the video with the
intentions to send a message, to create an emotive atmosphere, and to show how it might feel for someone like the main character - Charlie.
